Sara Ward, Owner and Creative Director

Sara’s passion for floral design is deeply rooted in her lifelong love of nature, art, and all things beautiful. Raised in an artistic environment, she developed an early appreciation for color, form, and the transformative power of beauty — a sensibility that naturally led her into the world of flowers.

For more than 22 years, Sara has created exquisite floral arrangements for weddings, events, and celebrations of all kinds. Her journey began as friends entrusted her to design the flowers for their most meaningful occasions, recognizing her innate talent for creating lush, garden-style arrangements that feel both refined and effortlessly natural. As an avid home gardener, she has always found joy in gathering blooms straight from her garden, adorning tables and spaces with seasonal abundance.

Sara’s work is also shaped by her time living in Philadelphia and Peru. In Philadelphia, she honed her skills at Home Influence, a well-established floral design studio. In Peru, she explored the vibrant local markets, sourcing flowers directly from growers—an experience that deepened her connection to the raw beauty of local blooms.

Sara’s story with Wildflowers began more than 20 years ago, assisting founder Jane Winter with weddings and events. Under Jane’s mentorship, Sara grew her artistry and understanding of the Wildflowers ethos: creating breathtaking, one-of-a-kind floral experiences. In 2016, Sara purchased Wildflowers from Jane, carrying forward its legacy while making it her own—infusing each creation with her distinctive blend of natural elegance, artistic intuition, and heartfelt craftsmanship.

Today, as owner, botanical artist, and creative director, Sara continues to bring beauty to St. Louis every day, offering florals that are as extraordinary and unique as the moments they celebrate.
